KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Dr. Nikos Mattheos graduated from the Dental Faculty University of Athens. He completed his PhD degree in the University of Malmö, in Sweden where he also received specialist training in Periodontology. He has completed a 3-year residency with focus on Implant Dentistry and Fixed Prosthodontics in the department of Periodontology and Fixed Prosthodontics in the University of Bern, Switzerland under Professor N.P Lang. His research is disseminated through more than 90 publications in international peer reviewed journals and he has received the IADR researcher’s award in 2003 and 2013. He has served at the position of Associate Professor in the University of Malmo (Sweden) and Griffith University (Australia). He is currently Clinical Associate Professor in Implant Dentistry and Associate Dean for Postgraduate studies in the Faculty of Dentistry, the University of Hong Kong, where he directs two postgraduate programmes in Implant Dentistry and is active with teaching, research and patient care.

Prof. Alessandro Pozzi was formally trained in the inter-related areas of implant surgery, prosthodontics and laboratory technology. He personally performs both surgical and prosthetic parts of the implant treatment. His expertise focuses primarily on integrated digital workflow in implant dentistry, computer guided surgery and prosthodontics with CAD/CAM technology.

Dr. Pozzi has been conducting clinical research to validate cutting edge digital technologies, novel implant design, and minimally invasive immediate implant rehabilitation concepts. Former Research Scientist and Professor of Oral Rehabilitation at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, he currently holds the Interim Chair of Oral Surgery-Implantology at the Marche Polytechnic University, Italy. A faculty member of the advanced clinical training program in surgical implant dentistry at UCLA University, he is also a guest lecturer in the continuing education. He has been teaching both specialization courses and masters programs worldwide and in his own practice in Rome, as well as lecturing at several international congresses.

In 1973 he graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry, at the Hebrew University, in Jerusalem. Specializing in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Poriya Hospital, Tiberias, Israel, and Queen Victoria Hospital East-Grinstead, England, and completed his specialization in 1980. Served as president of the Israeli Society for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery between 2001-2004. Awarded Senior lecturer at the Medicine Faculty of Bar Ilan University in Israel. Over the years, Dr. Laster has invented and developed 20 innovative surgical instruments and techniques for fracture fixation; Introduced a special new implant for post extraction immediate loading as well as an implant for implantation in the resorbed posterior maxilla without the need for sinus floor lifting and bone filling. In addition, he invented two special alveolar crest distractors. Dr. Laster authored 7 Chapters in 6 books and 29 articles in numerous publications and is frequently invited to various centers, professional trade – shows and highly respected conferences around the globe to lecture as a keynote lecturer and perform demonstrative operations.
